A new generation of healthcare professionals has celebrated the completion of its training at the Princess Grace Hospital, with 25 nurses and 16 nursing assistants receiving their diplomas…
The traditional graduation ceremony for the hospital’s Nursing Training Institute (IFSI) was attended by Princess Caroline of Hanover, alongside families, healthcare professionals and representatives of the Monegasque authorities. This year’s graduates form the Jacques Pastor class.
For the newly qualified nurses, the ceremony marked the culmination of several demanding years of study. Their training involved more than 4,000 hours, divided equally between theoretical learning and practical placements, preparing them for both the clinical and human demands of healthcare.
Graduates spoke of their desire to help others and of the importance of treating patients as individuals rather than focusing solely on illness. The strong personal relationships developed through nursing were also highlighted as an important motivation for choosing the profession.
The ceremony continues a long Monaco tradition. The presentation of insignia to graduates was introduced by Princess Grace in 1965, whilst the school itself has been training healthcare professionals in the Principality since 1929.
