Danish couturier Isabell Kristensen is bringing a new event to Monaco this month, launching Forget Me Not, a five-kilometre fashion and wellness walk taking place on Saturday, September 12, in support of AMPA, the Association Monégasque pour la Recherche sur la Maladie d’Alzheimer.
The inaugural walk grew out of a deeply personal loss for Kristensen, who lost her father to Alzheimer’s disease less than a year ago. Rather than a conventional fundraising walk, the event has been designed as a distinctly Monégasque experience blending couture, wellbeing, art and philanthropy, built around what organisers describe as a simple belief: that some memories deserve to be walked for.
Kristensen, who has spent more than 35 years designing couture for an international clientele, including royalty and celebrities, said fashion is closely tied to memory, since people tend to remember what they wore and who they were with during life’s most important moments. She said Forget Me Not was created to channel that connection into something communal, bringing people together through movement, beauty, art and shared purpose, while helping raise awareness of the families living with Alzheimer’s.
Participants will gather at the Isabell Kristensen boutique in Monaco-Ville at 9:30am, where each will be invited to dedicate their walk to someone they love, remember or wish to honour. From there, the five-kilometre route winds through some of the Principality’s most evocative locations, each forming part of the day’s broader narrative.
At Place du Palais, a setting with particular personal significance for Kristensen, who served as Maid of Honour at the wedding of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, a speaker will reflect on the connection between memory, place and celebration, while models in Isabell Kristensen couture ponchos join ballet dancers from the Anne-Marie Symons Ballet School to bring fashion and movement into the setting.
The route continues on to the Princess Grace Japanese Garden, where participants will take part in a treasure hunt inspired by the event’s own take on “Memory Lane,” following a single clue toward a necklace of natural sapphires and diamonds, created by international jeweller LEIBISH, hidden among the garden’s greenery.
The morning concludes back at the Isabell Kristensen boutique with a champagne toast and sweet treats, followed by the unveiling of a short film woven from personal video dedications sent in by friends of the House, each reflecting on memory in their own way. The event closes with the presentation of the first Forget Me Not Award, a sculpture created by Israeli artist Talia Zoref, honouring a lifetime of work that has given millions of people unforgettable memories. The inaugural recipient will be revealed on the day itself.
Registration costs €35, with 100 percent of participant fees donated directly to AMPA Monaco, whose president, Catherine Pastor, is expected to attend the inaugural edition. Organisers describe a modest dress code of activewear “with a touch of elegance,” alongside comfortable footwear. Sign-ups are open via forgetmenotbyisabellkristensen.com/2026.
Beyond AMPA, the event has drawn support from a range of partners, including Club39, which leads the morning’s opening movement session at Place du Palais; Gold Tradition Champagne, marking the closing ceremony; Rossi – La Bottega del Gelato, providing refreshments; Monacqua, keeping participants hydrated along the route; and Monaco-based F1 tour guide David Lamb, among others.
Organisers hope Forget Me Not will become an annual fixture on Monaco’s calendar, with ambitions to expand the walk into new countries in the years ahead. The event runs alongside the Principality’s wider September mobilisation around Alzheimer’s awareness.
