Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, under the presidency of Princess of Hanover and artistic direction of Jean-Christophe Maillot, have announced their 2026-2027 season, offering a packed calendar of ballet, dance and cultural programming running from October 2026 through July 2027.
The season opens on October 29, 30 and 31, 2026, with an evening performance of “Roméo et Juliette,” followed by a matinee on November 1, staged at the Salle Garnier of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo to mark the production’s 30th anniversary.
December brings two further productions. “Bronia,” choreographed by Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo of Kor’sia, will be presented alongside Maillot’s “Altro Canto” on December 19, 20 and 21 at the Salle des Princes, Grimaldi Forum. That will be followed by “Ma Bayadère,” another Maillot work performed with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo under conductor Garrett Keast, running December 28 through 31, with an additional performance on January 2, 2027, also at the Salle des Princes.
The Monaco Dance Forum returns in April 2027 with a wide-ranging programme. Highlights include Aakash Odedra’s “Songs of the Bulbul” on April 22 at the Salle Garnier; Cécile Martinez’s inclusive dance creation “Lever les Yeux,” performed by Compagnie 6ème Sens, on April 23 at the Salle Camille Blanc; Scirocco Winndance Company’s double bill “Death in Venice” and “Bridge of Sighs” on April 24 at the Salle Garnier, featuring an international cast including Diana Vishneva, Polina Semionova and Gil Roman; and Israel Galván’s “La Consagracion de la Primavera,” performed alongside pianists Daria van den Bercken and Erard Bouwhuis, on April 26.
Also in late April, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo present a Bartók-themed double bill, combining Maillot’s “Le Mandarin Merveilleux” with Alexeï Ratmansky’s “Le Prince de Bois,” accompanied by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo under Elias Brandy, running April 27 through May 2 at the Salle des Princes.
The Monaco Dance Forum’s programming continues into May with the opening ceremony of the Jeux des Petits États d’Europe, staged as a choreographic-vocal project on Place du Palais on May 17, 2027, with further details to be announced.
June brings the Académie Princesse Grace’s annual gala on June 18 and 19, followed by Maillot’s “La Mégère Apprivoisée” from June 24 to 27, both staged at the Salle Garnier. The season concludes in July with Paul Lightfoot’s “See You” paired with George Balanchine’s “Violin Concerto,” running July 8 to 11, and Maillot’s “Cendrillon,” staged July 22 to 25, both also at the Salle Garnier.
Beyond the main programme, the season includes several additional events: “Les Imprévus,” a series of surprise performances staged at the Ballets de Monte-Carlo’s own studio and accessible only to five-show subscribers, with dates to be announced online; a free screening of Stanley Donen’s “Funny Face,” starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, on April 25, 2027, at the Salle Camille Blanc, held in partnership with the Institut audiovisuel Monaco; a family dance workshop with Compagnie Pieds Nus on December 19, 2026, at the Grimaldi Forum’s dance studio; and two performances of “Pas Croisés,” a piece featuring Ballets de Monte-Carlo principal dancer Mimoza Koike, staged at the Musée National Marc Chagall on November 20, 2026, and May 21, 2027.
Tickets are available through the Grimaldi Forum and Atrium Opéra de Monte-Carlo box offices, as well as online via balletsdemontecarlo.com and montecarloticket.com. Individual ticket prices range from €25 to €39 depending on seating category, with reduced rates for groups and those under 25. Season subscriptions are also available, covering three or five performances at discounted rates. A 20 percent reduction applies to individual tickets for visitors with reduced mobility, though this cannot be combined with other discounts or applied to subscriptions.
For those travelling from Nice, a dedicated shuttle service, “La Voiture Ballet,” will run for select performances across the season, departing from Gare Thiers at 6pm for a round-trip fare of €6.
