A suspicious package prompted another security operation in Monaco on Wednesday, July 15, with Place d’Armes and the Condamine Market temporarily evacuated as bomb disposal specialists investigated an unattended bag…

The incident occurred shortly before midday, just one day after a similar alert at Place des Moulins. Public Security officers swiftly cordoned off the square, closing both vehicle and pedestrian access while specialist teams were called to the scene.

According to Monaco-Matin, the unclaimed bag was discovered close to the market hall. Bomb disposal experts arrived at around 12:30 pm and, after preparing the site, carried out a controlled destruction of the package. The operation was completed quickly, allowing the area to reopen shortly before 1:00 pm.

The latest alert comes amid heightened vigilance across the Principality following the June 29 bomb attack targeting Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev and his family. Since then, reports of suspicious objects have increased, leading to more frequent precautionary interventions by the authorities.

Monaco’s Public Security Department has also reminded residents that abandoned items left on public roads may result in fines, as authorities continue to encourage vigilance while responding rapidly to any potential security concerns.
