Princess Stéphanie of Monaco presided over a military ceremony at the Moneghetti barracks on Tuesday, May 26, officially welcoming two new recruits into the Compagnie des Carabiniers du Prince.

As patron of the Prince’s Carabinieri Corps, Princess Stéphanie presented the new trainee officers with their Corps insignia during a formal event attended by members of the unit and military officials.

The presentation of the insignia marks a significant milestone in the recruits’ training and integration into one of Monaco’s most recognisable ceremonial and security institutions. The badges symbolise their commitment to service, discipline and loyalty to the Principality.

The insignia were blessed during the ceremony by Abbé Christian Venard, adding a traditional and spiritual dimension to the occasion.

Founded in 1817 by Prince Honoré IV, the Compagnie des Carabiniers du Prince is responsible for the protection of the Sovereign Prince and the Prince’s Palace, while also carrying out ceremonial duties during official state events and national celebrations. The corps remains a central part of Monaco’s military heritage and public identity.
