AS Monaco continued their impressive run of form with a 2–0 victory over Brest at the Stade Louis-II on the evening of Saturday, March 14, strengthening their push for the European places in Ligue 1.

Just a week after their eye-catching win away to Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco returned home determined to keep the momentum going. Facing one of the league’s other in-form teams, the Principality side produced a composed and disciplined performance to secure all three points.

The match began at a lively pace, with both teams showing attacking intent early on. Brest created the first real opportunity when Ludovic Ajorque threatened Monaco’s goal, but the hosts quickly settled into the game.

Monaco took the lead in the 19th minute thanks to Folarin Balogun, who finished confidently after a strong run from Maghnes Akliouche. The goal continued Balogun’s impressive scoring streak, marking his fourth consecutive Ligue 1 match on the scoresheet.

The home side controlled much of the first half and could have extended their advantage before the break, with Balogun, Lamine Camara and Aleksandr Golovin all going close as Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot was forced into several important saves.

Monaco remained in control after the restart, though Brest briefly threatened to get back into the match. Golovin came close to doubling the lead with a curling effort early in the second half, only for Brest’s goalkeeper to produce a sharp save.

As the game entered its final stages, Monaco eventually found the second goal that sealed the result. In the 79th minute, Golovin reacted quickest inside the box to fire home and make it 2–0, marking his 200th Ligue 1 appearance with an important goal.

The victory extends Monaco’s strong run in the league and moves the club closer to the European qualification places. With confidence high and the team unbeaten in several matches, the Principality side continues to build momentum as the Ligue 1 season enters its decisive phase.
