As the conflict in the Middle East entered its third day, the Monegasque government confirmed that it was closely monitoring the situation and maintaining contact with nationals currently in the region…

According to the latest update issued today, around 60 Monegasque citizens and their companions were believed to be present in the affected areas. Authorities in Monaco stated that all known travellers had been identified and contacted, with the government continuing to follow their situation carefully.

The Prince’s Government has urged those concerned to strictly follow the security instructions issued by local authorities and to remain in close contact with Monaco officials. Officials stressed that the safety of Monegasque nationals remains an absolute priority.

The warning follows a broader security alert issued to Monegasque travellers in the region after the outbreak of hostilities involving Iran and its regional adversaries. Citizens were previously encouraged to register with the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs’ Fil d’Ariane system in order to receive real-time security alerts.

Meanwhile, analysts say the conflict remains highly unpredictable. Speaking to Monaco Info, journalist and political scientist Dominique Simonet explained that the escalation followed months of debate in Washington over whether to intervene militarily in Iran. According to Simonet, the decision ultimately reflected concerns over Tehran’s nuclear programme and its growing stockpile of enriched uranium.

While the United States and Israel argue that intervention could weaken the Iranian regime, Simonet noted that the situation could evolve in many directions. Much will depend on Iran’s ability to retaliate and whether the conflict widens across the region. For now, observers agree that the crisis is only in its early stages.
