World Scouting and Guiding Day is celebrated each February, marking both the birth of the global scouting movement and the enduring values it promotes among young people…

Founded in the early 20th century by Robert Baden-Powell and later developed alongside his wife Olave, scouting has grown into an international movement dedicated to citizenship, teamwork and personal development. In Monaco, guides and scouts proudly join millions worldwide in honouring a tradition that has remained true to its core principles whilst evolving with the times.

The Monegasque branch welcomes boys and girls from diverse backgrounds, offering activities that combine outdoor adventure with cultural exchange and community spirit. From a young age, members are encouraged to explore nature, build confidence and develop a sense of responsibility through shared experiences, whether during local camps or international gatherings that connect them with scouts from around the world. These encounters foster openness, respect and a strong sense of belonging to a global network.

While modern technology forms part of daily life, scouting in Monaco also emphasises moments of digital disconnection, allowing young participants to reconnect with nature and with one another. The movement promotes teamwork, creativity and personal reflection, helping young people grow both individually and collectively.

Looking ahead, the Monaco scouts and guides have a busy calendar, including international jamborees and regional initiatives that will further strengthen bonds across borders. For many young participants, representing Monaco abroad is a source of pride, as they share the Principality’s culture and values on the world stage while continuing a tradition of service and friendship that spans generations.
