The British School of Monaco has expanded its educational offering with the opening of its first nursery school in the Jardin Exotique district, welcoming pupils aged three to five…

Located discreetly on Avenue Hector-Otto, the new “Early Years” section opened after several months of preparation and already hosts around fifteen children. Two bright classrooms and a multi-purpose space have been specially designed to meet the needs of younger learners, alongside dedicated outdoor areas for play, sport and outdoor learning. The nursery forms part of the school’s wider development, which already includes primary and secondary education for around 150 students in the Principality.

The programme follows the British academic model and is taught entirely in English by qualified British teachers. Alongside early literacy and numeracy, the focus is on social development, language acquisition and confidence-building, helping children prepare for entry into primary school. The school emphasises values traditionally associated with the British system, including collaboration, mutual support and a strong sense of community.

The student body reflects Monaco’s international population, with families representing more than 30 nationalities. While British pupils form a significant proportion, many students come from across Europe and beyond, underlining the Principality’s cosmopolitan appeal.

Although the nursery is currently operating below full capacity, demand is expected to grow steadily, with the school confident that places will be fully taken by the next academic year as Monaco continues to see rising interest in private international education.
