With the Monte-Carlo Rally super special stage and the International Circus Festival taking place on the same evening, Monaco is preparing for an exceptional surge in visitors, and a carefully managed traffic plan to keep the Principality moving…
To avoid congestion, the Integrated Mobility Management Centre has introduced two distinct traffic routes, depending on whether spectators are heading to the circus or to the rally on Port Hercule.
For those attending the circus performances under the Fontvieille Big Top, vehicles will be directed via the Albert II Tunnel toward the Fontvieille parking facilities, allowing smoother access to the venue. With three shows scheduled on Saturday and around 4,000 spectators expected per performance, authorities are anticipating heavy but controlled flows in that area.
Spectators heading to the rally’s super special stage will be guided instead toward Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. From there, drivers will be directed to the Salines or railway station car parks, both offering elevator access down to the port. If those facilities reach capacity, alternative parking will be available at the Colle and Vert-d’Anjou sites, with further directions provided by traffic services.
The rally circuit will be closed from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, while the super special stage will run from 5:00 pm until around 10:30 pm. During this window, access to the port area will be tightly regulated, and motorists are strongly encouraged to follow official signage and police instructions.
With rally fans, circus audiences and families all converging on the same evening, traffic is expected to be heavy, but officials insist that with advance planning and clear routes, both major events can be enjoyed safely and smoothly.
