The 30th edition of U Giru de Natale proved a festive and sporting success on Sunday morning, bringing together more than 2,000 runners on the streets of Monaco…
Organised by the Public Safety Sports Association, the traditional 10-kilometre race got underway at 10:30 a.m. from the Formula 1 Grand Prix starting line, marking another milestone for one of the Principality’s most popular community events.
Participants followed a spectacular route through some of Monaco’s most iconic locations, including Casino Square, Larvotto and the Prince’s Palace. With its combination of climbs, descents and historic settings, the course challenged runners while offering a unique running experience in the heart of the city. Many competitors highlighted the demanding elevation changes, particularly the climbs near Casino Square, but praised the variety and beauty of the route.

The atmosphere was unmistakably festive, with runners embracing the Christmas spirit through creative costumes, colourful outfits and accessories ranging from reindeer antlers to Santa hats. Encouraged by spectators lining the course, participants of all ages and abilities ran for enjoyment rather than performance, reinforcing the inclusive spirit of the event.
Whether seasoned athletes or occasional runners, young and old alike shared the same goal: taking part, having fun and celebrating sport together. Crossing the finish line was less about the stopwatch and more about the sense of achievement and camaraderie.
At the end of the race, participants left with a shared victory, the pleasure of running together in Monaco, surrounded by encouragement, good humour and a strong sense of community.
