The 30th edition of the Tournoi International de Judo de Monaco (TIJM), Trophée Gérard Bertrand, brought high-level competition and an electric atmosphere to Stade Louis II on Sunday 7 December, as the Fédération Monégasque de Judo welcomed teams from across the world for this anniversary event…

A fixture of the international judo calendar, the TIJM is renowned for its demanding team format: seven senior male fighters per team, from –60 kg through to +100 kg, with four individual wins required to secure overall victory. This structure ensures intense, tactical duels and momentum shifts that keep spectators – and coaches – on edge throughout the contest.

More than 100 judokas took to the tatami, representing France, Italy, Lithuania, Ukraine, Monaco and, in a particularly celebrated return, Japan, whose participation added prestige and excitement to this milestone edition.

The event once again highlighted Monaco’s strong commitment to martial arts and its ability to host high-level international sport. With its blend of athletic excellence, national pride and friendly rivalry, the TIJM’s 30th anniversary confirmed its place as one of the most respected judo team tournaments in Europe.
