The Roca Team returned to winning ways in the Euroleague with a clear 84–52 victory over ASVEL in Décines on the evening of Wednesday, November 19. After two defeats in Belgrade, Monaco delivered a controlled and disciplined performance from start to finish.
The opening quarter was slow, with both teams struggling to score and ASVEL edging it 14–11. From the second quarter onward, Monaco took full control. Strong defensive pressure forced multiple ASVEL turnovers, while Nikola Mirotic, Nemanja Nedovic and Elie Okobo helped push Monaco into a 34–21 half-time lead.
Monaco increased the gap further after the break. Mike James, Alpha Diallo and Mirotic led the charge as the visitors quickly built a 20-plus-point advantage. ASVEL, despite the return of Thomas Heurtel, were unable to respond and continued to struggle offensively.
By the start of the final quarter, the result was effectively settled. Monaco rotated their full squad, maintaining the same intensity until the final whistle. The 32-point margin reflects the visitors’ dominance, particularly on defence, where they registered 18 steals and forced 23 turnovers.
Coach Vassilis Spanoulis praised his players’ focus and reaction following recent losses, noting the importance of mental resilience in a demanding Euroleague schedule.
