On the evening of October 21 in Monaco, an emotional tribute was paid to an extraordinary human adventure undertaken by Céline Cotalorda and Sylvie Bertrand, President and Vice-President of Suricats Monaco…
The duo recounted their five-day ascent of Mont Blanc in September, a physically demanding challenge undertaken in support of Handicap International. Their goal was simple but powerful: raise €4,807, €1 for every metre of elevation, to fund prosthetics for people in developing countries. In the end, they exceeded that target, raising €24,000, enough to help 244 individuals regain mobility.

Accompanied by renowned mountaineer Christophe Profit, the women faced high winds, cold temperatures, and challenging terrain as they climbed via the historic “Voie des Pionniers.” They pushed through uncertainty, climbed to over 4,000 metres, and reached the summit despite doubts caused by the extreme weather conditions. For them, it was not just a physical test but a profound experience of stepping outside their comfort zones in the name of solidarity.
Their motto, “we walk so that others may walk again“, captured the spirit of the evening. From the heights of the Alps to the heart of Monaco, their story reminded all in attendance that the most meaningful triumphs are those made in service of others.
