Monaco witnessed a proud sporting moment on Tuesday, October 14 as local tennis sensation Valentin Vacherot received a hero’s welcome at the Monte-Carlo Country Club, just days after his stunning victory at the Shanghai Masters 1000.

The 25-year-old champion, who claimed the prestigious title on Sunday, October 12 was greeted by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, president of both the Monte-Carlo Country Club and the Monegasque Tennis Federation, during a celebratory reception held in his honour.

Applause and emotion filled the air as club members rose to their feet to salute Vacherot’s achievement, marking a milestone moment for Monaco’s sporting community. The victory not only cements his place among the rising stars of international tennis but also shines a spotlight on the Principality’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class athletes.

Vacherot’s success comes at a fitting time: Monaco has been named World Capital of Sport 2025, a recognition that reflects its enduring commitment to excellence, precision, and performance.

For the young champion, the homecoming was both a celebration and a statement, proof that Monaco’s sporting ambitions, much like his game, are reaching new heights.
