On the morning of Tuesday, June 10, Monaco’s Town Hall opened its doors to a new exhibition titled “Acting Together for the Ocean”, marking the Principality’s ongoing commitment to marine preservation in honour of World Oceans Day. The event brought together local dignitaries, environmental leaders, and schoolchildren in a collective call to protect the planet’s blue heart.

Deputy Mayor Marjorie Crovetto, responsible for the Environment and Sustainable Development, welcomed a delegation that included Florence Larini-Negri, Director of the Mission for Energy Transition; Bernard Reilhac, Director of Development at the Oceanographic Museum; Laurent Anselmi, Executive President of the Academy of the Sea; and Geneviève Vatrican, Honorary President of the National Commission for UNESCO. Also in attendance were members of the Monegasque Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, along with students from across the Principality.

The exhibition, which runs until Friday, June 13, features eight panels displayed in the Town Hall’s main hall. Each panel showcases student artwork and reflections, presenting different perspectives on the state of the oceans and the urgent challenges they face. From climate change and plastic pollution to biodiversity loss, the visual contributions underline the importance of education, youth engagement, and joint action in tackling global marine issues.

By placing young voices at the heart of the event, the initiative aims to inspire broader awareness and commitment among citizens, reinforcing Monaco’s longstanding role in championing ocean conservation on the international stage.
