Monaco’s Department of External Relations and Cooperation hosted its annual diplomatic conference on Wednesday, April 23 to Thursday, April 24 at the Hôtel Hermitage, bringing together the Principality’s ambassadors from around the world. Sixteen heads of mission attended this year’s edition.
The conference was opened by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Acting Minister of State and Government Counsellor–Minister of External Relations and Cooperation. In her address, she reaffirmed the international values championed by His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince, namely peace as the foundation of global security and wellbeing, the unwavering defence of human rights and fundamental freedoms, and a commitment to international solidarity in tackling global challenges — whether environmental, political, or economic.
Over the two-day session, ambassadors and officials tackled a range of pressing topics. Pierre-André Chiappori, Government Counsellor–Minister of Finance and Economy, offered a briefing on the current economic health of the Principality. Monaco’s environmental commitments were laid out by Céline Caron-Dagioni, Government Counsellor–Minister of Infrastructure, Environment, and Urban Planning.
Attention also turned to Monaco’s preparations for Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, with insights provided remotely by S.E. Mireille Martini, Commissioner General of the Monaco Pavilion, alongside S.E. Didier Gamerdinger, Monaco’s Ambassador to Japan.
The conference wrapped up with a review of Monaco’s international cooperation activities over 2022–2024 and the unveiling of priorities for the new action plan. To round off the programme, ambassadors were invited to the Grimaldi Forum for a tour marking the venue’s 25th anniversary and its new expansion project.
