The Princely Government has rolled out a major update to the official Monaco Bus mobile app, significantly enhancing the user experience for public transport passengers across the Principality. Originally launched by the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) in the late 2010s, the app has been redesigned to meet the evolving needs of commuters and support Monaco’s broader goals for sustainable mobility.

The new version of the app now offers real-time updates on bus arrivals, live geolocation of vehicles, and even data on how crowded each bus is. Users can access maps and timetables for all bus routes and stops, including the recently introduced lines X1, X2, X3, and X4. The app also allows passengers to mark preferred routes and stops as favourites for quicker access upon launch, and receive real-time service alerts and notifications about the network.

This upgrade follows the installation of new-generation digital information panels at bus stops and on board vehicles, part of Monaco’s ongoing effort to create a more efficient and connected public transport system. The government is encouraging all users to download or update the app to take full advantage of the improvements and welcomes feedback for future enhancements. Suggestions can be submitted to CAM agents, at ticket counters, or via the contact listed in the app at contact@cam.mc.

The initiative is part of the government’s wider mobility policy aimed at reducing the use of private vehicles and encouraging a shift toward public transport. In 2024, CAM buses carried 7.6 million passengers—a 4.6 percent increase over the previous year—indicating a steady rise in demand for cleaner, more convenient travel options.
