AS Monaco stormed to a commanding 3–0 victory over Olympique de Marseille, reclaiming second place in the standings with an assertive performance under the floodlights at Stade Louis-II. The win was witnessed by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and club president Dmitry Rybolovlev, as the Red and Whites delivered a statement of intent in their push for Champions League qualification.

After a sluggish start, Monaco found their rhythm and imposed themselves with clinical efficiency. The visitors came out pressing early, with Luis Henrique firing a warning shot into the side netting in the 13th minute. But Monaco weathered the early pressure, and Takumi Minamino opened the scoring in the 34th minute, latching onto a slick pass from Denis Zakaria and finishing smartly into the corner. It was Minamino’s fifth goal of the season and Zakaria’s third assist.

The home side nearly doubled their lead just before the break through Vanderson, but his effort was stopped by Rulli. Monaco came flying out of the blocks in the second half, with Wilfried Singo and Breel Embolo both forcing sharp saves from Marseille’s goalkeeper within minutes of the restart.

Marseille threatened through Mason Greenwood, but Philipp Köhn stood firm between the posts, denying the Englishman twice in quick succession. Monaco, however, maintained the upper hand. In the 58th minute, Embolo made it 2–0, lofting a delicate chip over the keeper after a perfectly timed ball from Vanderson – the Brazilian’s third assist of the campaign.

Substitute Amine Gouiri nearly pulled one back for Marseille, but Köhn once again produced a spectacular stop. Monaco sealed the deal in the 82nd minute when Zakaria calmly slotted home from the penalty spot, marking his fifth goal of the season and ending any remaining suspense.

Philipp Köhn capped off his night with two more saves in stoppage time as Monaco kept a clean sheet and a firm grip on second place. With the result, Adi Hütter’s side continues to build momentum in the final stretch of the season.
