AS Monaco’s artistic swimming team delivered standout performances at the French Junior N2 Artistic Swimming Championships, held in Annecy and Seynod, earning several podium finishes and securing qualifications for the prestigious N1 all-category championships…
Martina Pregliasco excelled in the free solo event, finishing 5th overall to earn her place at the French N1 and claiming a silver medal in the PACA regional ranking. She also took 8th place in the technical solo, accompanied by a bronze medal in the regional classification. Meanwhile, newcomers Lola Orrado and Samira Miglans impressed in the free duet, finishing 5th to qualify for the N1 and taking silver in the PACA regional standings.
These results are a testament to the demanding nature of the sport and the team’s dedication. Artistic swimming is as much a test of physical power and endurance as it is of grace and technical precision. Athletes must demonstrate flawless synchronization and muscle control, all while managing long periods of breath-holding. In the free solo, swimmers perform for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, with around 1 minute and 35 seconds of apnea. The free duet extends to 2 minutes and 45 seconds, with apnea of up to 1 minute and 50 seconds.
The results reflect the rigorous training led by coaches Sophie Declercq and Valérie Rodriguez, who continue to guide and develop Monaco’s next generation of elite artistic swimmers.
