Monaco’s interim Minister of State led a solemn tribute at the National Council to honour the late Henry Rey and Didier Guillaume, two distinguished figures who left a lasting mark on the Principality.

Addressing the assembly, she expressed deep gratitude for their contributions, extending condolences to the family of Maître Henry Rey, whose legacy in Monaco’s legal and public spheres was one of integrity, wisdom, and unwavering dedication. Beyond his esteemed career as a notary, Rey was remembered as a man of honour, deeply committed to the service of his country.

The Minister also paid homage to Didier Guillaume, the late Minister of State, who passed away suddenly over two months ago. A statesman of conviction and action, Guillaume took office on September 2, 2024, and quickly became known for his leadership, pragmatism, and dedication to Monaco. His passion for public service, ability to foster unity, and genuine attachment to the Principality earned him deep respect. His warmth and accessibility made him a beloved figure within the government and the wider community.

In a heartfelt message, thoughts were extended to their families and loved ones, with a special mention of Guillaume’s wife, Béatrice, his sons, David and Alexandre, and his brother, Bruno, who followed the proceedings online. The tribute also acknowledged the presence of Hugues Moutouh, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes and a close friend of Guillaume.

Both men were remembered not only for their professional achievements but for their humanity and dedication to Monaco, leaving behind legacies that will endure in the history of the Principality.
