Monaco’s leisure scene is about to get a major boost with the launch of Box98, a new entertainment centre opening in Fontvieille on Friday, March 28. Spanning 4,700 m² in the former Musée des Voitures de Collection space above the Fontvieille Shopping Centre, Box98 will offer electric go-karting, racing simulators, bowling, billiards, and karaoke, providing a long-awaited addition to the Principality’s limited recreational options.
The project comes just months after the government’s call for proposals to repurpose the site, aiming to fill a gap in activities for both young people and adults. The venue is expected to draw a mix of locals and visitors looking for something beyond the usual upscale dining and nightlife scene.
Beyond Box98, plans are in motion for a second entertainment centre in Cap d’Ail’s ZAC Saint-Antoine area. A 1,200 m² space is earmarked for additional recreational activities, though details remain sparse.
With Monaco often criticised for lacking entertainment options beyond luxury shopping and casinos, Box98 is a step toward diversifying leisure activities in the Principality.
