In a moving ceremony held on the Place du Campanin in Fontvieille, four young recruits were officially welcomed into the Monaco Fire Brigade on Monday, receiving their helmets in front of proud families and local authorities…

The symbolic act marked the culmination of their rigorous training and the beginning of a lifelong commitment to serving the Principality. The helmet presentation is a deeply meaningful tradition within Monaco’s Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers, representing not only the responsibilities of the role but also the honour of protecting lives and property.

Under the watchful gaze of friends, family, and fellow firefighters, the recruits shared the emotional significance of the moment. “It’s a childhood dream come true,” said one new firefighter. “These four months of training were intense and challenging, but today it feels worth it. This is the job of a lifetime.”

The new cohort spoke of their motivation to join the fire service, citing a desire to help others, a passion for teamwork, and the opportunity to blend physical fitness with meaningful work. The ceremony also served as a reminder of the enduring values that define the fire brigade—courage, commitment, and service to others.

Adding to the poignancy of the event, the new promotion was named in tribute to former Sergeant Henry Camprodon, whose family attended the ceremony. His children paid homage to his lifelong service, both in uniform and as a father, recalling the values he lived by and passed on to others.

The event concluded at the Fontvieille barracks with a moment of camaraderie, officially sealing the recruits’ integration into the brigade. It was a powerful reminder of the essential role firefighters play in Monaco and of the next generation stepping forward to carry that legacy.
