Fresh off his highly anticipated debut with Scuderia Ferrari, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton is adding a touch of Hollywood nostalgia to his racing career. The 40-year-old British driver took to social media to unveil a playful homage to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, recreating the iconic joyride scene from the beloved 1986 classic.

Hamilton, who has long cited Ferris Bueller as one of his favourite films, put his own spin on the role of the mischievous parking attendant. He was joined by his friend and Hollywood actor Edward Norton in a short clip that seamlessly integrates them into the original scene—complete with digital magic and official backing from Paramount Pictures.

“I’ve always wanted to do this,” Hamilton shared with his followers. “It’s about fulfilling another dream.” The tribute isn’t just for laughs—Hamilton went the extra mile for authenticity. Instead of simply using a modern Ferrari from the team’s collection, he tracked down one of the actual replica Ferraris used in the original film. While the movie famously portrayed a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California SWB Spider, the cars used on-screen were Ford-powered replicas built specifically for the film’s high-flying stunts.

In the recreated scene, Hamilton and Norton reassure a fictional Cameron Frye that his father’s beloved Ferrari will be safe—before tearing through city streets in reckless joy. It’s a fitting moment for Hamilton, who is embracing life at Ferrari with a newfound sense of fun.

From his glamorous photoshoot with the fabled Ferrari F40 at Maranello to an early sprint race victory in China, the Mercedes-to-Ferrari transition seems to be suiting Hamilton well, with an unfortunate double disqualification from the Chinese Grand Prix being the only significant speed bump for the Scuderia thus far.

Ending the video with a motivational nod to his younger fans, Hamilton declared: “For all the kids out there who dream the impossible.” And really, who hasn’t dreamed of taking a Ferrari on the ride of a lifetime?
