The Fairmont Monte-Carlo, Monaco’s largest hotel, is marking its 50th anniversary with extensive renovations, a fresh interior design, and a high-profile partnership with Ferrari…
Opened in 1975, the hotel has continually evolved to maintain its status as one of the Principality’s premier destinations, and its latest transformation is set to reaffirm its place in Monaco’s luxury hospitality scene.
Recent upgrades include Mediterranean-inspired room renovations, the introduction of a second swimming pool, and the enhancement of rooftop dining experiences, adding to its already impressive lineup of venues such as Nobu and Nikki Beach. These changes align with the Fairmont’s strategy of blending luxury, comfort, and innovation to meet the expectations of its international clientele.
Looking ahead, General Manager Alexandre Ariel, who has been with the hotel since 2008, is focused on adapting to Monaco’s evolving landscape, particularly the impact of the Mareterra district. While this new development has altered some sea views, Ariel sees it as an opportunity to further strengthen the Fairmont’s position within the heart of Monaco. The hotel remains a top choice for business tourism, with 600 rooms and a variety of amenities catering to an elite global audience.
Despite persistent rumours about demolishing the hotel to build two new properties, Ariel has dismissed such speculation, confirming that the Fairmont will continue to thrive and may even expand in the future, reinforcing its legacy as an icon of Monaco’s hospitality industry.
