The third edition of Monacollecte, a large-scale solidarity initiative in Monaco, once again brought together residents and organizations at Quai Antoine First to promote responsible waste disposal and support local charities…
The event encouraged individuals to donate broken, worn-out, or unused items, giving them a second life through recycling, repurposing, or redistribution to those in need.
Monacollecte was more than just a donation drive—it featured engaging creative workshops, including a hands-on activity organized by the Médiathèque de Monaco, where children crafted unique bookmarks using repurposed fabric. These small yet meaningful activities reinforced the event’s dual mission of environmental consciousness and social responsibility.
Local charities played a crucial role in the initiative, including Le Cœur d’Espoir, which collected essential items such as clothing and shoes for redistribution to individuals facing hardship. The organization highlighted the ongoing need for support, particularly in Menton and Nice, where volunteers conduct outreach missions every two weeks. Food, clothing, and footwear donations gathered during Monacollecte will be sorted and distributed efficiently to ensure they reach those who need them most.
Another key participant was Fight Aids Monaco, the association founded by Princess Stéphanie, which used the event as a platform for awareness and reflection. Their “Tree of Change” initiative invited attendees to tie recycled fabric strips to a symbolic tree, each representing a personal commitment to environmental, social, or health-related causes.
Interim Minister of State Isabelle Berro-Amadeï visited Monacollecte, acknowledging the dedication of participants and commending their commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and solidarity. The event, which concluded on Saturday evening, once again demonstrated Monaco’s dedication to environmental responsibility and social support.
