The Lycée Hôtelier Rainier III de Monaco has had a victorious week, confirming its status as an establishment of excellence in the restaurant and hotel sectors. Last Friday, at the regional final of the Georges Baptiste Cup, and on 5 February, at the second edition of the AGGH Étoiles, two young talents from the school shone on prestigious stages…

On Friday 31 February, the Lycée Rainier III hosted the PACA regional final of the Georges Baptiste Cup, the oldest catering competition in France, which has been bringing together students and experienced professionals since 1960. During the competition, around a dozen candidates from the PACA region faced off against each other in tests combining theoretical and practical challenges, illustrating the rigour and technical skills expected in the service professions.

Among these young talents, Vanessa Bosio, the only Monegasque representative, stood out and won first prize. Her remarkable performance will now enable Monaco to represent the southern region at the next national competition, to be held in Saint-Nazaire.

Another success on the national stage

The week was also marked by a victory in the second edition of the Étoiles de l’AGGH. On 5 February 2025, in the luxurious surroundings of the Hôtel Le Negresco – a veritable icon of Nice’s hotel industry – eight finalists from all over France competed against each other in front of a jury of passionate professionals, taking on some particularly demanding technical challenges. The competition, which aims to highlight the skills of tomorrow’s governors, has become a must-attend event for the profession.

In an atmosphere charged with emotion and tension, the finalists gave their all, waiting patiently for the jury to retire at 6.30pm to deliberate. And it was Emmie Castellanos, also from the Lycée Rainier III Monaco, who finally took first prize, confirming the high level of training and talent of the school’s students.

A Week that Reinforces the Reputation for Excellence

These two successive victories perfectly illustrate the quality of the teaching provided at the Lycée Rainier III Monaco.

Franck Languille, national and international president of the Coupe Georges Baptiste, stressed the importance of these competitions : ‘The future depends on these young people. The next generation must be perfectly trained.

This commitment also extends to competitions such as the Étoiles de l’AGGH, where excellence is not only encouraged, but celebrated by the entire profession.

With these successes, the Lycée Rainier III Monaco confirms its role as a breeding ground for talent and actively contributes to the promotion of exceptional know-how in  many disciplines.
