In a solemn tribute to the late Minister of State Didier Guillaume, the Principality of Monaco has announced a series of measures to commemorate his legacy following his passing on Friday, January 17. His Serene Highness Prince Albert II has decreed a day of national mourning to coincide with Guillaume’s funeral on Thursday, January 23.
The funeral will take place at Monaco Cathedral at 11:00, with flags flown at half-mast on all public buildings across the Principality until the conclusion of the service. Additionally, a minute of silence will be observed on Monday, January 20, at 11:00, marked by a siren to prompt collective reflection.
To provide the public with an opportunity to pay their respects, a chapel of rest will be established in the Chapel of Mercy on Town Hall Square. Accompanied by a book of condolences, the chapel will be open to the public from Monday, January 20, through Wednesday, January 22, between 10:00. and 17:00.
