The Prince Pierre Foundation of Monaco has unveiled the program for its 102nd lecture season, bringing together distinguished voices to explore the interplay between artistic creation and cultural diversity. This year’s series will feature a lineup of renowned figures from various disciplines, each offering unique insights into the connections between art, identity, and society.

The season opens on Monday, January 20 at the Théâtre des Variétés with Noémie Lvovsky, an acclaimed screenwriter, director, and actress, who will engage in a discussion with film critic Jacques Kermabon. Titled The Paradox of the Actor, the conversation will delve into the complexities of directing and performing, drawing on Lvovsky’s extensive experience on both sides of the camera.

On Monday, February 3, choreographer and dancer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui will present Beyond: Culture in Motion, reflecting on how art emerges in response to its environment and evolves when cultures intersect. Cherkaoui will share personal insights from his celebrated works, including Vlaemsch (chez moi), which examines his Flemish heritage, and Ihsane, an exploration of his Moroccan roots.

Monday, February 10 will feature historian and philosopher Georges Vigarello, who will discuss Sport in Art. This lecture, held in the context of Monaco’s designation as UNESCO’s World Capital of Sport in 2025, will examine the historical and artistic significance of physical competitions and their impact on creative techniques and expression.

Laure Prouvost, a contemporary artist and filmmaker, will take the stage on Monday, March 10. In conversation with art scholar Mathilde Roman, Prouvost will discuss her recent projects, including her climate-focused exhibition Above Front Tears Oui Float and her exploration of intergenerational storytelling in OMA-JE. She will also preview her upcoming exhibitions in Berlin and Marseille.

Concluding the local lectures on Monday, March 31, journalist and author Leïla Slimani will present Writing: Taming the Darkness. Reflecting on the creative process, Slimani’s session will take the form of an intimate writing workshop, inviting attendees to engage with themes of solitude and artistic introspection.

The program extends beyond Monaco with two special events. On Sunday, May 4, writer Javier Santiso will speak at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia about the spiritual depth in the works of French poet Christian Bobin. On Wednesday, May 14, philosopher Jacques Rancière, recipient of the 2023 Principality Prize, will deliver a masterclass in Paris in partnership with the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco.

All events are free, but reservations are recommended via www.fondationprincepierre.mc. For more information, contact (+377) 98 98 85 15.
