Monaco has been officially designated as the World Capital of Sport 2025, an honor bestowed by the Association of European Capitals and Cities of Sport (ACES) during its annual gala at the European Parliament in Brussels…

On December 12, His Excellency Frédéric Labarrère, Monaco’s Ambassador to Belgium, received the symbolic ACES flag, marking the Principality’s leadership in promoting sports on a global scale.

This prestigious title recognizes Monaco’s proactive approach to fostering sports development and accessibility, a vision championed by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. As a staunch advocate for using sports as a vehicle for peace, education, and well-being, Prince Albert has driven initiatives that position Monaco as a model of excellence in sports promotion.

Monaco’s government places a strong emphasis on integrating physical activity into education, offering accessible public facilities to encourage community participation, and supporting elite athletes competing on the world stage. The Principality also consistently attracts global sporting events, reinforcing its reputation as a hub for athletic excellence.

Following Sofia, Bulgaria’s tenure in 2024, Monaco’s recognition as World Capital of Sport 2025 underscores its enduring commitment to advancing the values of health, unity, and competitive spirit through sport.
