Monaco marked a significant step in its fight against financial crime and terrorism with the signing of a cooperation agreement between Richard Dubant, Director of the Asset Management Service for Seized or Confiscated Property, and Eric Arella, Director of Public Security on Wednesday, December 11.
This partnership underscores Monaco’s commitment to fulfilling its international obligations and implementing domestic legal provisions aimed at combating money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The agreement sets the foundation for a coordinated approach to managing seized and confiscated assets, both within the Principality and abroad, as the collaboration aims to identify assets for seizure at the earliest stages of criminal investigations and establish clear protocols for their preservation.
