The Hôtel Métropole in Monte-Carlo welcomed a packed audience for the first edition of Flowers4Art, an event organized by the Monegasque association Passion Sea, founded and presided over by Helga Piaget. On Saturday, November 30, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II attended the event, expressing his enthusiasm and commending Helga Piaget for her dedication to the initiative.

Flowers4Art spanned three days, highlighting the association’s commitment to fostering sustainability in urban spaces through innovative vertical gardening solutions. This aligns with Monaco’s broader vision of ecological advancement. Experts presented cutting-edge concepts, including moss-based vegetation systems, sustainable architectural elements, and technologies to enhance water conservation in green urban designs.

The event also engaged younger generations, welcoming students from the International School of Monaco and Françoise Nicolas Barré’s classes. The students had the opportunity to explore the exhibits and display artwork created for Passion Sea’s ongoing “World Water Flag” project, which has been active since 2019.

The gathering also featured insights from Patrick Blanc, a biologist and visionary who pioneered vertical gardening in 1986. Blanc’s speech emphasised the global applicability of green architecture, regardless of geographic or climatic challenges.

The presence of HSH Prince Albert II and key figures from the environmental and design communities underscored Monaco’s dedication to sustainable innovation. Flowers4Art not only celebrated green solutions but also showcased the Principality’s resolve to lead in integrating nature with urban architecture.
