In recognition of the International Day to End Violence Against Women on Monday, November 25, the associations Fight Aids Monaco and SheCanHeCan, with the backing of the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights, have launched a widespread digital media campaign. The initiative will appear online and across all bus stops in Monaco, aiming to raise awareness and inspire action.
For the fifth year running, the campaign calls on men to take a stand against violence toward women and champion gender equality. This year’s campaign features four prominent male figures in Monaco as ambassadors: Didier Guillaume, the Minister of State; Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council; Louis Ducruet, President of the Barbagiuans football club and son of Princess Stéphanie; and Pierre Frolla, a triple world-record holder in free immersion diving.
Each ambassador appears in a 10-second video filmed at their workplace, sharing a clear message of support. Minister Guillaume affirms, “In the government, we assert that there is no place for sexism,” while Louis Ducruet declares, “The Barbagiuans say no to violence against women.”
This initiative highlights the critical role of men and boys in combating violence against women and promoting gender equality. By amplifying their voices and actions, the campaign seeks to inspire a collective commitment to ending gender-based violence.
The campaign has been made possible through the support of the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights and Monaco’s Direction of Communication.
