The 29th edition of the Tournoi International de Judo de Monaco (TIJM) will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024, gathering top European judokas in the Principality.

This year’s tournament will once again feature the Gérard Bertrand Trophy, a team event named in honour of the Federation president’s contribution since 2015. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fédération Monégasque de Judo, this tournament marks a milestone for its president Sophie Vincent, tournament director Florence Garcia, national technical director François Bick, and technical advisor Marcel Pietri, who helped organize the anniversary.

Following the excitement of the Paris Olympics, where France’s judo team triumphed over Japan in a thrilling team final, Monaco’s Salle Gaston Médecin will host more than 100 international judokas. The tournament’s format features 14 teams with 7 members each, competing in a single-elimination format with automatic repechage. The first team to secure four wins claims victory in each round, with every team guaranteed a minimum of two bouts during the day.

Competitions start at 9:00 a.m., with semifinals at 2:30 p.m., the match for third place at 3:00 p.m., and the final showdown scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
