The grave marking the resting place of Sir Roger Moore in Monaco’s cemetery has been vandalised, according to a report at tmz.com.
The Moore family crest has been ripped off and stolen, and a model Aston Martin of the type Moore drove in his 007 role has also disappeared. The British actor played James Bond seven times, from 1973 until 1985, culminating in A View to a Kill.
Before taking on the James Bond mantle, following Sean Connery, Roger Moore was already well-known in the UK as the main character in a TV series, The Saint, which ran from 1962 until 1969.
Sir Roger was knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for services to charity.
A longtime Monaco resident, Sir Roger died in Switzerland 2017 at the age of 89.
Contacted by the news outlet, Monaco police said they were not aware of the desecration and theft.
