As part of the plan to renew mechanical connections launched in 2020 and its mobility policy, the Prince’s Government will replace the six moving sidewalks in the Prince Pierre gallery, which will be added to the long list of 50 devices around Monaco that have already been replaced.
This highly frequented gallery provides a useful link between the railway station and Allée Lazare Sauvaigo. Work will begin on June 19, 2024 and end on April 30, 2025. During this period, part of the moving sidewalks will remain in service to facilitate travel, while the standard pedestrian paths will be permanently maintained.
The mechanical connections installed in 2000 will be replaced by more efficient devices, equipped with technology allowing for automatic restarting in the event that the emergency stop button is pressed.
