Monaco’s British Association (BAM) held its annual King’s Birthday celebration on the terrace of Le Meridien on Wednesday, June 12, welcoming a number of distinguished guests.

Mr Eric Blair, the UK’s long-serving Honorary Consul in Monaco, was the official representative of the UK Government, while the Monaco Government was represented by Mme Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Also attending was France’s Ambassador to Monaco, His Excellency Jean d’Haussonville.

Yvonne Bernhope, BAM President, welcomed members and guests and raised toasts to HSH Prince Albert and His Majesty the King as the national anthems of the two countries were played. Unfortunately, neither the Prince nor the King could attend, due to other commitments.

The evening was especially convivial thanks to the musical contributions of Carl Henry, Collette and Stella.

The event was sponsored by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyJet founder and long-time Monaco resident.
