On Tuesday, June 11, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group inaugurated its brand new ‘Security Control Post’ in the presence of HSH Prince Albert. This latest generation surveillance device meets the most stringent protection and security requirements of the Monte-Carlo SBM Group, which continues to participate in the constant strengthening of a high level of security in the Principality of Monaco.

Prevent, intervene, and anticipate, these are the key axes of the new Monte-Carlo SBM Security CP, created in five months and operational since May 5. This ‘Control Post’ acts as a nerve centre dedicated to the safety of people and property in the Monte-Carlo SBM Resort, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This security system detects suspicious situations or behaviour, and allows for direct intervention on site in liaison with operational teams. Any interventions are immediate, thanks to three teams, distributed between the Place du Casino area, remote sites including Sporting Monte-Carlo and the Aigue-Marine premises and sites in France. No less than 14 operators and four room managers, supervised by a director and a deputy, are mobilised on a daily basis.

With more than 1,200 surveillance cameras, which record continuously, as well as the management of all radio communications, the Security CP meets in all respects the best international standards in this area. SBM employees have a single telephone number, in the event of a security incident, to contact the Security CP teams instantly, which also works hand in hand with the Games Control teams and those of the Monegasque Police, thanks to a direct link.

Tested for the first time during New Year’s Eve, before being activated during the Monaco Grand Prix, this Security CP centralises all of the Group’s operational security activities, such as the management of suspicious or malicious behaviour, malicious actions or problems linked to loss or theft of property in the Resort.

“Security in our gaming and luxury activities at large has become increasingly important over time. It constitutes, with the stability of our political regime, added to the quality of the healthcare offer and the education system in particular, one of the pillars of Monegasque attractiveness,” declared Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and Managing Director of Monte-Carlo SBM during this inauguration.
