HSH Prince Albert was received by President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, and decorated with the insignia of the Commander of the Order of Agricultural Merit on Tuesday, May 14.

Colloquially called ‘the Leek’, the Order of Agricultural Merit was established in July 1883 by the Minister of Agriculture, Jules Méline, “to reward services rendered to agriculture.” Recipients of the Order of Agricultural Merit wear a green ribbon with red borders, attached to a badge that represents a white enamelled star.

The sovereign was accompanied on this visit to the French capital by HSH Princess Charlene, hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, as well as his older sister, Princess Caroline of Hanover.
