Two earthquakes shook the Principality and the surrounding area at around midday on Monday, May 6. A 1.8 magnitude earthquake off the coast of the Côte d’Azur was followed hours later by a 2.0 magnitude earthquake in Italy, but felt as far as Eze.
SismoAzur specifies that the epicentre of the more severe earthquake was located in Imperia, in Italy at a depth of 7km. The earlier earthquake’s epicentre was located in between Monaco and Corsica, at the same depth of 7km.
