With Monaco’s Mayor Georges Marsan still out of action following his arrest before Christmas on charges of influence-peddling, Monaco’s stand-in Mayor, Camille Svara, has said that she didn’t think twice about taking over at the helm of Monaco Town Hall.
“I told myself that it was normal to take on this moment because I was first deputy. I didn’t ask myself any more questions. I had to do my best so that, when he comes back, he finds that all the business has moved forward (il trouve que tous les dossiers ont avancé),” Ms Svara told the Principality’s domestic news service MonacoInfo on Tuesday, March 5.
Ms Svara will continue to head the Town Council for an indefinite period, as it is not known how long the preparation of a criminal case against Mayor Marsan will take.
