Child Care Monaco has a new mission, having opened a special facility in South Africa to welcome children suffering from foetal alcoholism syndrome, a significant problem in the region.
The association’s president, Martina Ackermann, said that the children benefit not only from the education they receive but also the security the centre offers.
The school also operates as a small farm, providing the children with a wide range of useful occupations as well as an education in basic skills.
Martine said that the children are responding very positively to the opportunities the school provides, and their responses to the help being offered have been “very touching.”
