Monaco’s stock of housing for Monegasques will soon be added to by a 10-story building on boulevard du Larvotto. The building will house 35 apartments and cost 45 million euros, the Communal Council heard on Thursday evening.

The building will be characterised by climbing plants and an array of solar panels on the roof. Construction is due to start in February this year, and last 39 months.

A terrace at five metres in height will span the road in front of the building.

Council member Georges Gambarini said the project was one of the most beautiful presented to the Council since the start of his term in office, while temporary Mayor Camille Sara said she was disappointed at the small number of larger apartments in the project. Of the total of 35, 10 will be three or four-roomed. The project comes with 37 parking places.
