Monaco’s Town Hall will be hosting a Christmas Village on the theme of “Rainier III, Prince Passionné”, on the Port of Monaco from 16:00 on Thursday December 7. On the same day, the city’s illuminations will be switched on.

The Quai Albert will feature a number of decorations paying tribute to Prince Rainier III, and in particular to his many passions: the arts, motor sports, animals and the sea. The promenade will allow visitors to (re)immerse themselves in the Prince’s daily life through animated scenes decorated with old photos of the Prince Builder. In addition, three large arches several metres high will welcome the public at the various entrances to the Christmas Village, representing Prince Rainier III’s love of sports, the circus and sailing.

As usual, this Christmas Village is sure to delight young and old alike, the Mairie said.

The Village will feature 800 natural Christmas trees, seven rides including the Ferris wheel, the toboggan run, the Christmas tree merry-go-round and three new attractions (flying chairs, children’s roller coaster and Santa’s sleigh).

Christmas Village means treats and gifts. There will be 24 sales chalets and 19 food stands to delight everyone’s taste buds that will be open every day from 11:00.

Enchanted parades, mascots, live nightly concerts and stage shows will punctuate the daily life of the Christmas Village. In addition, creative workshops for children aged 5 and over (garland making, hanging lights, colouring…) will be held every weekend from 14:00 until 18:00 in the entertainment chalet.
