The inter-church grand charity sale under the Big Top in Fontvieille on Saturday, December 2, was another great success, the organisers report.

“It was only a success because of all the wise help we had collecting and getting the donations to the tent,” said logistics chief Arthur Reynolds.

About 120 cubic metres of donations were transported to the site, equal to the capacity of two juggernauts.

As every year, the British Association of Monaco manned a stall offering many products, mainly with a British flavour, including homemade jams, jellies, chutneys and mincemeat, mince pies, Christmas cakes, and ginger cakes.

Also on sale were delightfully cute handcrafted teddies and mice, with extra clothes, and, of course, Christmas cards, decorations and gifts for all.

President of BAM Yvonne Bernhardt said: It was an extremely exciting and busy day and the final balance was up on last years’ takings. Thanks to all Santa’s helpers.”
