Due to its proximity to the Center Hospitaller Princess Grace, work to replace lighting in the tunnel on blvd de Belgique will take place during daytime.
Work is due to take place from November 21 to December 22, 2023, form 08:30 until 16:00, with alternating traffic in place.
The tunnel is currently equipped with 89 lighting fixtures, which accommodate 150 fluorescent tubes and High Pressure Sodium lamps. They will be replaced with much more energy efficient LED lights.
There will be multiple benefits. The number of lighting fixtures will be divided by five with the installation of 27 LED lighting fixtures and the total power of the current devices will be divided by six. The lifespan of the lights will be between 80,000 and 100,000 hours, compared to 10,000 hours for existing ones, limiting the need for maintenance.
