Monaco’s Environment Department, coordinator of the European Waste Reduction Week (SERD) for the Prince’s Government and the European Steering Committee, is pleased to announce that it has renewed the registration of the Principality for the fifth time to participate in the 2023 edition of this awareness week, which will take place from November 21 to 26 with the theme ‘Packaging.

The membership of the Environment Department in the Steering Committee allows the Principality to be at the heart of the decisions and directions taken in Europe concerning this important event and to create relationships with numerous European partners. The Packaging theme corresponds to a subject to which the Principality is very committed as part of its ‘zero single-use plastic waste by 2030’ policy.

European Waste Reduction Week is open to everybody, as long as they relate to waste reduction, whether on the theme of the year or any other action aimed at reducing waste.

“What is certain is that SERD in the Principality continues to grow and welcome new members from edition to edition. In 2022, we had the pleasure of identifying 83 actions which were carried out thanks to the investment and convictions of 50 committed shareholders! An assessment which can only augur a very promising SERD 2023 with some nice surprises,” the organisers said.

If you too would like to participate and lead an awareness-raising initiative on waste and join all those who have already contributed to this important approach, or simply support an action as a volunteer, you can: Either register directly on the SERD platform from this link https://ewwr.eu/take-part/#action_developer if you already know the process. Or contact the Environment Department by sending an email to:environnement@gouv.mc or call 98 98 83 41.
