Ms Isabelle Bonnal, Commissioner-General in charge of the Department of National Education, Youth and Sports, welcomed journalists to the Lycée Rainier III (formerly Lycée Technique et Hôtelier) for the annual back-to-school press conference on Tuesday at which she presented some of the themes that will characterise the coming school year.
Also present were Mr Patrice Cellario, Minister of the Interior, and Mr Christophe Robino, Minister of Social Affairs and Health.
The legacy of Prince Rainier will be celebrated in Monaco schools and also at the Preventorium of Madagascar, which will now be called Foyer Rainier III. At the heart of the school year will be the well-being of students and the entire educational community, plus the recognition of the singularity of each student.
This year, 5,657 students will join the Principality’s educational establishments when they open next Monday, September 11, including 4,314 in public education and 1,343 in the private sector. These students will be supported, welcomed and trained by 876 staff from public and private educational establishments in Monaco.
