One of the very top diplomatic posts in Monaco – and possibly the most important – is that of French Ambassador, and on Tuesday, September 5, HSH Prince Albert welcomed His Excellency Mr Jean d’Haussonville.

Following the official ceremony at the Palace during which the new Ambassador presented his Letters of Appointment from President Macron to His Serene Highness Prince Albert, a welcome lunch was chaired by the Sovereign at the official Residence of Minister of State Pierre Dartout.

A graduate of the Institute of Political Studies and a former student of the National School of Administration, graduating in 1995, Jean d’Haussonville served as Managing Director of the Chambord National Estate from 2010.

Previously, he served as First Secretary at the Permanent Representation of France to NATO in Brussels (1997-2001), and as Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Communication (2004-2007). Jean d’Haussonville is an Officer of the National Order of Merit, Knight of the Legion of Honour and Officer of Arts and Letters.
