Monaco’s Chances for Children charity has announced the passing of “our beloved Noah,” several weeks after the young man underwent heart surgery in his native Uganda. Many NEWS.MC readers contributed to the fund that enabled the operation to take place.
After his successful heart valve replacement, Noah was recovering with his host family when he developed an infection and was hospitalised early last week. He deteriorated quickly on Friday.
“We are so grateful for the love and support we have received for Noah from so many of you, far and wide. He was given the absolute best chance, and this will never be forgotten,” said the charity’s Russell Crump.
Noah was laid to rest on Sunday, July 16.
On Thursday, July 20, Father Hugh of St. Paul’s Anglican Church led a short memorial service for Noah at the right side of Larvotto beach in Monaco, and a bouquet of flowers was dropped into the water.
Chances for Children operates a residential facility in Uganda to house and educate young people whose life chances otherwise would be extremely limited.
